the Hotel
The Reef House is an iconic boutique hotel overlooking the Coral Sea in the North Queensland tropical village of Palm Cove. A retreat for adults only offering relaxed beach house ambiance and legendary hospitality standards. The resort is ideally situated on the beachfront in close proximity to an array of restaurants and cafes, boutique shops and water sports.
Rich in history, Reef House was one of the first Palm Cove properties built in 1958 when it was operated by Brigadier Thomson as a private residence where visitors were treated as personal guests. Many of these traditions carry on to this day including the Brigadier’s Honesty Bar and twilight canapes & punch hosted by the resort’s General Manager.

THE DINING EXPERIENCE
Nestled under the magnificent Melaleuca trees and palms, the award winning Reef House Restaurant has been a Palm Cove institution since the 60’s. Views across to the Coral Sea and candlelit night ambiance create an intimate and romantic setting to savour North Queensland’s local ingredients combined with European flavours. Complemented by Reef House’s Australian and imported wine list curated by their talented sommelier- a constant work in progress, with on average, 250 different labels at any given time.
Breakfast at the Reef House Restaurant is exclusively for in-house Guests. Poolside butler service, gourmet picnic baskets and private in-room dining provide further intimate and bespoke hospitality experiences.
the wellness experience
The Reef House Day Spa is the only Day Spa in Queensland to offer Phytomer treatments and product. Phytomer, ‘from the sea to the skin’ was created in Saint-Malo, France over 40 years ago and is a true pioneer in marine skin care.
Swiss Spa Director Isabelle Neil received her training in France from iconic cosmetic companies Clarins, Chanel, Dior & Phytomer, specialising in intensive therapies such as anti-ageing, deep relaxation massage and slimming treatments. Isabelle’s extensive experience has taken her all around the world as a pioneer in providing anti-ageing facial treatments.
