the lodge
Sequoia is an intimate adults only luxury lodge, nestled in the highlands of the glorious Adelaide Hills in South Australia. Designed as a private sanctuary with many exclusive amenities and bespoke onsite and personalised offsite activities.
While Sequoia Lodge is completely private, it has access to the leafy 30-acre Mount Lofty Estate, home to South Australia’s two highest altitude vineyards, ancient underground Mount Lofty springs, and offers access to a multitude of easy walking paths and moderate hiking trails.
Sequoia guests have exclusive use of the lodge’s lounge which features multiple fireplaces, comfortable sunken lounges, 180° views across the valley, and a panoramic sun deck. Within the lodge grounds, there are artesian spring-fed hot pools, an infinity pool and a wildlife enclosure.
A tennis court can be accessed from the adjacent estate grounds.
the suites
Sequoia’s 14 open-plan suites boast panoramic valley views from the sunken lounge, bedroom, and bathroom. Each suite has a large balcony with an expansive daybed, a gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, a hidden TV, a large bathtub with views over the valley, and a wonderful wellness shower. The suites are fully automated offering different mood and time of day settings.
Rate includes daily breakfast, the minibar, and nightly turndown service.
The suites have been brought to life by local suppliers, craftsmen and artisans, creating a tranquil oasis with a calming colour palette punctuated by warm accents of wood and stone.
the location
Sequoia sits on the side of Mount Lofty, high above the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills, a region currently being considered for UNESCO World Heritage status. The area’s significance centres on its working agricultural (food and wine) landscapes, historic settlements, abundant wildlife, pure environment, continuing culture and practice.
Nowhere else in the world are there four world-class wine regions found within a 50-kilometre radius. These range from the cool climate Adelaide Hills to the maritime McLaren Vale to the historic agricultural area of Langhorn Creek and the high-altitude Eden Valley. The region is not only home to the largest surviving koala population, but it is also one with extensive Indigenous history.
Within 20 minutes of Sequoia are the homes of many South Australian icons including Jurlique, Penfolds Magill Estate (the home of Grange), and a little further afield is R.M. Williams. There are also more than 200 cellar doors with whom we have arranged intimate behind-the- scenes experiences, curated exclusively for their guests.
the dining experience
Dining at Sequoia is an exclusive affair for their lodge guests offering creative, contemporary Australian menus that reflect the changing seasons and draw inspiration from local suppliers. Guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, light lunch and a 2 or 3 course dinner either in the lodge lounge or in the privacy of their own suite.
Mount Lofty Estate is also home to the award-winning 3 Chef Hatted fine dining Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant, an unmissable culinary experience.
